
The Construction Services Department provides quality control for construction projects in the water and wastewater industry. WestLand’s inspectors provide these services for project owners, for both WestLand’s engineering designs and also for design work by other engineering firms. Our inspectors have experience in construction and inspection of a wide variety of projects, including:

Each inspector in the Construction Services Department has a minimum of 10 years experience. Our inspectors have a variety of specialized training and certifications including NUC Competent Person Training, AGL Laser Operation, Confined Space Entry, HDPE Pipe Fusion, Epoxy, Post Tension, Foundation, Reinforcing Steel Inspections, Materials Certifications, and ADOT Advanced Lab Training. WestLand’s Construction Services Department is fully supported by our engineering staff, which is led by three of the principals of the firm. Each of our inspectors is fully equipped with a company vehicle, safety and first-aid equipment, and digital photography and communications equipment.
Perhaps the most important component of the management of field construction projects is documentation. WestLand has two full time executive assistants whose sole responsibility is technical and administrative support for our construction field staff. Combined, they have over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Their duties include assembling inspection reports and photos, tracking and documenting project submittals and compliance reports, attending and documenting project meetings and completing and compiling appropriate forms and applications required for project completion.

WestLand maintains a secure, climate-controlled archaeological laboratory with all the necessary equipment to complete the analysis on large scale data recovery projects. All artifact and project information is maintained in an Access-based data base that is compatible with the Arizona State Museum. The Cultural Resources Group uses state of the art electronic survey equipment in the field and is supported by two GIP specialists trained in archaeology.
