WestLand's team of archaeologists provides consulting services for cultural resource management. These professionals conduct archaeological surveys (Class I through III), cultural resource evaluations, monitoring, archaeological testing, and data recovery for a variety of clients throughout the Southwest. WestLand's staff is well versed in state and federal procedures and policies, including those related to NEPA and to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

    WestLand maintains a secure, climate-controlled 1,087 square foot archaeological laboratory that provides for in-house artifact processing, analysis, and storage, as well as equipment storage and maintenance. WestLand archaeologists also utilize a total station, surveying instrument for mapping sites and excavation areas, and equipment and vehicles to field two archaeological survey crews and two excavation crews simultaneously are maintained in-house.

  • National Historic Preservation Act Section 106
    WestLand's cultural resource specialists help our clients get through the often complex National Historic Preservation Act "Section 106" process and similar local regulations. The archaeologists support WestLand's team of environmental resource specialists, engineers, and landscape architects on a variety of projects and find cost-effective and schedule-sensitive solutions to problems related to the preservation of historic cultural properties. The individuals in our archaeological program have extensive experience working with agencies as well as the private sector, and maintain the highest level of professional performance.
